Our Workshops

Workshops
Person centred nature inspired craft workshops to boost your creativity and mental health

Every workshop is designed to meet the needs of the attendees.
Whether it’s a young person trying to re-engage with education, a group of retirees seeking enrichment, work colleagues looking to de-stress, or someone recovering from mental health struggles and wanting to reconnect with themselves and their environment—we've got you covered.

We can create a single workshop or a series of sessions tailored to your specific requirements.

Workshops can be hosted at Make and Mind Studio in Sale (for groups of 6 or fewer), or we can travel to your location within Greater Manchester.

The format of the workshop includes an element of nature—where possible, visiting local areas for inspiration and material collection*. There will also be an educational science component (which can be adapted to KS levels if appropriate), followed by the learning of a new craft skill and the creation of a piece that attendees can take home. We can also facilitate discussions around the benefits of nature and crafting on mental health.

Here’s a small list of some activities you could look forward to during one of our workshops:
-
Building moss terrariums
-
Using pyrography tools to create nature-inspired wood pieces
-
Learning the art of quilling
-
Using air-dry clay to make botanical homeware
-
Making your own dyes and pigments and painting with them
-
plant-inspired "silk" paintings, and more.

Workshops typically last around 2 hours or more, but this can be adapted to suit your needs.

*Stuck in the office or a centre? Don’t worry, we can bring nature to you.
